hallo, liebe Freunde )))
Here I’m supposed to tell about the project that we’re buzy with in the textile workshop of Dynamo. Our idea is closely connected with our vision of the city Zurich. Thinking about the topic “What Zurich needs”, all of our group members agreed with the conseption of future installation. The trees in front of Dynamo become the objects of the project. Today we mostly finished to make some kind of wraps for the trees. 6 pieces of cloth contain different things and reflect our impressions of Zurich. In the city there are a lot of hidden places inside as well as outside. This is what we tried to represent in the installation and tried to hide some surprising things inside of each piece. Among sewing we used different techniques (zbs printing), put there images and even installed some electrnonic filling that produces sounds. Besides we want the visitors to take part in our work and become co-creators. That’s why one of them, for example, contains place for drawing or writing and markers. Another is made to allow people to create their images with pieces of colored velkro. We (Ksenia, Anna, Adele) hope that the presentation will be successful. We tried our best to express the atmosphere of the Zurich city. We think that the idea will be close to the visions of other people.

August 11th, 2009 by EsmeraldaHey!! so I don’t really know where to start, I am not used to wrting blogs at all but I’ll give it a shot. So after being sick last week and feeling like I was going to die at some point I am now recovered and back in action. This being sick really put me behind in my work so now I have a lot to do and so little time! but I am sure I will manage since I am used to working under pressure.
Anyway what I really wanted to talk about was this weekend which was quite fun (except for the rain..) Soo Saturday it was street parade and it was raining a lot for the most part, which sucked cuz we couldn’t go see the street parade until 6 or something…but it was still worth it. I don’t think many ppl liked it here in the camp but I though it was a fun time reminded me little of halloween in the US because of the costumes, haha Adelle and I got some pretty funny shots with ppl, wiggs and sunglasses maybe I’ll post some later. Saturday was also a great day for me cuz I finally printed most of the photos I will be using for my project.I am in the painting group and I’ll be mixing differet techniques to transmit my msg of what zurich needs, and these techniques include photos so yeah it was a good feeling to see all the photos I took and edited finally on paper!
Then Sunday was a special day to say the least! first of all I met this great guy his name is Paul. I met him while climbing this mountain Pilatus during our trip to Luzern. He was great company during the whole trip, he hiked with us and even walked down with us and then he joinied us through our of Luzern which ended with an amazing dinner by the river with some great company! Anyway enough about Paul. Going back to sunday I have to say I surprised myself with all the walking I was able to do! Uris told me today I walked 28km!! which is a LOT! specially for someone like me that is not used to do any type of excercise haha… in fact on the way up I thought I would never make it. Paula and I were explaining the group that we were behind because we come from Latin cultures, we like to eat good and party!! not like the rest that hiking is in their blood! haha Anyway I did it I was even able to hike up to highest point of the mountain, only carloina, sue, uris, craig and I did this. Afterwards I also decided to go down with the group that was walking and even though I almost kill myself a couple of times and Uris probably wanted to kill me for taking sooo many photos it was really worth it!! It reminded me of the Sound of Music (as dorky as it might sound haha) It was a great expirience, I am also vert thankful with Uris for taking us and showing us around it was a lot of fun!! We ended coming back to Zurich at midnight, so I can say we really saw as much as we could!
Other than that I don’t think I have much to say, perhaps it would be nice to talk about my work today but maybe it will be better if you just come see the results this friday!! So see you!! hope you enjoyed the update!
PS Paul is really a stick, his name is Peter Paul Pilatus… I decided to call him Paul in this entry bcs Lien had alreayd mentioned Paul in hers…
Sunday – Monday
August 10th, 2009 by LienGruezi miteinander dear blog-readers,
Sitting on the hard floor somewhere in the big Dynamo-house, I`m taking the time to tell you about the past two days. It won`t be a long post because I am afraid that my buttox will hurt alot after sitting here for twenty minutes
!
Anyway, so on sunday – after a very sleepless and noisy night – we left very early to take the train with destination Luzern. With small sleepy eyes we arrived and Uris decided to let us climb the mountain Pilatus, so everybody went to do some morning fitness while I stayed in the city for a few hours. The city of Luzern is a very small, beautiful and quiet place and I kind of liked it (but still… Zurich is and stays my favourite). After that, I took the cable-things (little cabins hanging from a cable, pretty scary when you are alone in the cabin) and met the others at 1400 meters of heigth. They were quite tired, but hey they are heroes for climbing so high… respect! So we took another bigger cable-thingy, to the very top of the famous Pilatus and even our new participant, Peter who is a big stick and lives in the swiss woods, joined us to our destination (Bea, you should really take him with you to Spain, he will be very sad if you don`t). On the top, it was extremely beautiful and, after taking a break, some very brave people decided to walk down and some other very tired people
took the train down. We were in the back of the train – which is the steepest one in the world – and had a wonderful view on the landscape. Once back on the safe ground, we decided to have a coffee in Luzern and afterwards, Asha, Sue and I decided to just go back to home and get some sleep. When the others arrived in our cosy sleepingroom, we were already sleeping…
We all had a great day!!!
This morning was less great, though
! Everybody was tired and sleepy and didn`t really feel like working – let`s call it the mondaymorningmood. Having started the work, everything was allright again. We all just stay fascinated by what we are doin and that is a great thing. I`m very much looking forward to the exhibition on friday but on the other side, I also don`t want to leave the Dynamo and all these wonderful people… And wonderful they are!
Hmm… the floor is becoming harder and harder, maybe I just have to finish this blogpost and sit in our comfortable kitchen-sofa. Hopefully next blog will also contain some info on the great animation of today.
See you!
Lien
PS: this time I cannot include pics because I am writing on an italian macbook and I don`t really understand alot… Pictures will be included later.

August 8th, 2009 by CarolinaHello!
Yesterday in the morning we saw the art-cats floating on the river Limmat in the morning. We were everbody in the camp impressed of these nice colorful cats. After breakfast we started the art-work and my station was at the Metal work. At lunch time we had an animation which we enjoyd and laught at. The hole day we were talking about the Street-Parade the day after. We were excited about this day and what then is going on in Zürich. Today is the big day of the Street-Parade and it’s raining so I think the Street-party is going on more slowly. I was in the street and what I saw of the Parade I liked very much. It was like carneval and it was funny to look at all the costumes. I will continue to write more another day about this.
By, by, so long

August 7th, 2009 by LienAfter a hot day of working (outside), I actually feet like sitting in the cool air-filled propeller (where the computers rule the world)… So here I am, even though it is not really my turn to write something on our blog.
Speaking about the surroundings, Dynamo is an extremely interesting place to live and work because everything and everybody is lively, funny and sometimes even strange. Yesterday, for example, I was sitting at the riverside in the evening, when suddenly there was this totally naked (except for a hat) guy running past me. He climbed up the stage in front of the Chuchi, where there was a concert going on, showed all the spectators what he’s got and jumped in the river afterwards.
We were also very surprised when we got up today and saw big colourfol cartoon-cats sitting on the river… So I guess we are not the only ones having an art project here in Zürich
! But maybe Carolina will tell you more about the cats in her blogpost.
I’m wondering what else I could write about… The story of Angi’s bag that disappeared, was considered stolen and the panic it caused might be worth mentionning. Just on the moment when she was calling cardstop service, I found her bag in our soProxy-Connection: keep-alive
Cache-Control: max-age=0
in the JazzhausProxy-Connection: keep-alive
Cache-Control: max-age=0
28where we actually HAD been searching) and ran to her office. I’m still surprised to have found her bag over there…
We also had our first animation-programme thing today, about which Carolina will probably also tell more. Anyway, it was pretty much fun and I’m beginning to fear for the day on which it is my turn to animate the group. Would it be a good idea to do some kind of sleeping activity? Who knows.
It’s time to go enjoy the sun and the river and Zürich-atmosphere of fridayevening and to think about going out or not (yes, those things have to be considered in my world).
So I wish you and us a great, splashing, refreshing, interesting, whatever weekend!
Lien
PS: I tried to add pictures but the cardreader apparently doesnt want to read my SDcard, grmbl
